Entrepreneurship was written in the stars for Katie Yeager.
The 28-year-old owner and founder of Your Future Address (YFA) LLC in Overland Park was “blessed to have entrepreneurial parents,” she says.
YFA—a company Yeager started in January 2012— employs a full-time staff of three and brings a revised business model to the real estate industry. Instead of a commission based on sale price, YFA charges sellers a flat fee—usually less than 4 percent, with 3 percent going to the buyers’ agent. The model has proved successful; in 2012, the company closed $14.7 million in real estate transactions, and at the end of 2013, it claimed $19.4 million in listing transactions.
